Indy Recognized for Fall Creek Development!

Published by roundpeg under Economic Development

I have always believed that truely great cities are built on mixed-use neighborhoods where people live and work. It has been exciting to watch the redevelopment of the area near Fall Creek, as more and more of the homes are renovated, and rebuilt.

It is also cool to see that this project is recognized nationally! The National League of Cities is honored Indianapolis with one of the 2006 awards for municipal excellence. Indianapolis received the silver award for the Fall Creek Place project. which transformed a blighted inner-city neighborhood into a growing mixed-income and diverse community.

Just one more reason, I choose Indy!

WellPoint to create 1,200 new jobs in Indy

Published by roundpeg under Economic Development

Local companies make a real differnce in the local economy. While it is good to have companies open offices here, having a headquarters located in your home town, makes a much bigger impact. When they look to grow, they look to grow locally.

For example:
WellPoint will create 1,200 new jobs and take over space in the former United maintenance facility at Indianapolis International Airport for its expanding specialty pharmacy business, the company announced today.

It is good to see that 100,000 square foot facility being put back to use!
