Zionsville Merchants asked to Change

Some village business owners may be pressured to keep more consumer-friendly hours in the future. Greater Zionsville Progress Committee member Steve Russo suggested last week that property owners require tenants to stay open certain weekend and evening hours by inserting it in their leases.

Good for them! It is time for local business owners to realize we are a growing community, with changing needs and if we want to be perceived as more than “Naptown”  we have to be open for business, when customers want to shop!

Chris McEvoy to Lead Rainmakers Westfield AM

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Rainmakers, Indiana’s fastest growing business networking association announced effective immediately, Chris McEvoy of ACTUM Group will take over leadership of the Westfield AM advisory board. In this role he will provide direction and coordination of the activities of the Westfield group as well as providing advice and feedback to the Rainmaker management team.

As fuel prices continue to rise, more and more consumers are rethinking their feelings about Mass Transit.   Ridership on Fishers Expres bus to downtown is setting daily records as people discover the benefits of leaving the driving to someone else.

Public Art Unveiling in the Arts and Design District

CARMEL, Ind.

The City of Carmel will unveil the newest addition to its J. Seward Johnson sculpture collection tomorrow, Friday, May 23rd at 4:30 p.m. in the Arts & Design District. This statue, called “Unconditional Surrender,” will be placed in its temporary location in front of Artisan Masterpiece, located at 19 East Main Street.

The Friday of Memorial Day weekend was chosen as the date of the unveiling due to the statue’s patriotic theme. It replicates the famous photograph taken on WWII’s VJ Day depicting a sailor kissing a nurse in New York’s Times Square. There is also a Gallery Walk being held in the Arts & Design District immediately following the unveiling from 5-10 p.m

Keystone Detours to Begin after Memorial Day

CARMEL, Ind. – The Keystone reconstruction project is well underway and we are nearing one of the most challenging portions of the project. On Tuesday, May 27th, the day after the Memorial Day holiday, we will be closing access to Keystone and to cross traffic at 99th, 106th & 126th Streets. These road closures will be in place until December 1, 2008. Now is the time to find your detour route in anticipation of these closings. MORE INFO
