Fire Ravaged Establishment Back Open
Indianapolis, IN – Just a few months after an electrical fire burned down its former far north side location, Hot Shotz Restaurant recently opened its doors again at its new place in Fishers. Hot Shotz moved into the former Bennigan’s restaurant that is attached to the Holiday Inn Fishers hotel at 9770 N by Northeast Boulevard. An official grand opening is scheduled for October 18.
“After the fire this summer, I thought we would never be back in business, especially this soon,” said Robert Winckler, Hot Shotz owner, who had just purchased this restaurant a few months before the fire. “I was so touched by the overwhelming support we received from our patrons, friends and the community to help us get back on our feet again following this tragedy.”
The blaze occurred in the early morning hours on June 28. No one was injured, but the restaurant was destroyed. A few weeks following the devastating fire, a fundraiser was held on behalf of Hot Shotz to help raise money and the spirits of Winckler and his displaced staff. The only thing salvageable from the fire ruins was the restaurant’s tables, which are being used at its new site.
Hot Shotz’ returning customers will notice a more refined menu featuring a blend of fine dining and classic American cuisine selections, and exclusive drinks. Entrees range from peppercorn NY strip steak at $15.95, crab stuffed tilapia at $11.95, monster steak burgers at $6.95 to the “Best Damn” wings in Indianapolis – a platter of eight for $9.00. The bar features a variety of craft beer choices, a large selection of Indiana distillery beer, bottle beer, mixed drinks, and 20 different wines to choose from.
“We wanted to create an Applebees or Outback Steakhouse restaurant dining experience with quality good food at affordable prices,” added Winckler, who has worked in several five-star establishments that have catered to Hollywood celebrities and foreign dignitaries.
“Hot Shotz is a family-friendly environment where mom and dad can escape with or without the kids and eat a nice meal without mortgaging the house.”
This Fishers restaurant is also a larger facility – 2600 square feet – compared to its previous space and can seat 175 customers. The walls are lined with several
flat-screened televisions, and the building features a multi-purpose room that is available for private bookings for parties and corporate meetings.
Several of Hot Shotz former staff have returned to the restaurant to work, including the owner’s manager and loyal right hand man Christopher Morris. He is in charge of a staff of 40 to cover the seven-day- a -week operation.
“We believe we have a unique niche in the market now and we’ve hired an experienced wait and bar staff to make your visit here more relaxing and personable,” Morris said.
In addition, patrons can listen to live music on Friday and Saturday nights without paying a cover charge. Karaoke is also featured on Thursday evenings.
Restaurant reservations are accepted but not necessary. Hot Shotz gift cards are available and bookings for holiday parties are already being taken.
