Carmel, IN. - The 32nd Annual State of the City Address will be Wednesday, November 12th from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Ritz Charles in Carmel. Beginning in 1976 with Carmel’s first Mayor, Al Pickett, the Mayor’s State of the City has been an annual popular event, growing with Carmel’s growth.
As Carmel’s only three-term mayor, this will be Mayor Jim Brainard’s 12th State of the City address. Since his first address in 1996, Carmel has experienced substantial growth, evolving from a primarily residential community to a home for businesses, entertainment and recreation.
“Carmel’s population has nearly doubled over the last 12 years and the Annual State of the City Address is always a great opportunity to take a look back, and a look ahead,” said Mo Merhoff, Chamber President.
Chamber luncheons are served, plated events and reservations are required. Reservations for the luncheon will close at noon on Monday, November 10th. Cost is $15 for members and $25 for guests and walk-ins, regardless of membership. Register at www.carmelchamber.com. The Ritz Charles is located 12156 N. Meridian Street.
