Carmel, Ind. – Carmel Orthodontics’ new office building on Carmel Drive and Simply Sweet Shoppe/Second Story Playhouse in the Arts & Design District on Range Line Road have been selected as the 2008 recipients of the Carmel Chamber’s Look Awards. Sponsored by Bose McKinney & Evans, Pedcor Companies and the Carmel Redevelopment Commission, the Look Awards recognize architectural quality, the appropriateness of the construction or renovation to the building’s surroundings and the contribution of the project to the overall look of the community.
Dave Rausch and Toni Grimes from Ratio were the architects for Dr. Ron Miller’s new Carmel Drive Professional Building. REI served as general contractors. Harold Sark of Sark & Associates was the architect for Simply Sweet Shoppe; Brian VanDeman of VanDeman Builders, Inc. served as general contractor and McCommas was the structural engineer on the project.
The 2007 recipients were The Lurie Gallery for new construction and The Great Frame Up for renovation. The 2008 awards will be presented, along with the Applause Award for business of the year, the new Carmel Green award and MV2, which recognizes an outstanding volunteer.
All awards will be presented December 10th at the chamber’s annual Images of Excellence luncheon at noon at the Ritz Charles. Reservations are required and may be made prior to noon on December 8th on line at www.carmelchamber.com or by calling the chamber at 846.1049.
