The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Indiana Chapter has announced a new fund raising campaign in 2009, which will take the place of their Diamond Ball gala. The Man & Woman of the Year campaign is a fund raising competition, in which 8-10 men and women fund raise for approximately 9 weeks vying for the honor of Man & Woman of the Year.
The 9 weeks of fund raising begin on February 19 at our Kickoff Celebration and the campaign culminates in a gala on Saturday, April 25 during which we will celebrate the candidates’ fund raising success and announce our Man & Woman of the Year recipients.
This gala will continue to be a fun evening of food, entertainment, live and silent auctions, all generating funds to support LLS’s research and patient services. In addition, the money that our candidates will raise leading up to the gala provides limitless growth potential to this campaign, ultimately bringing LLS much closer to its mission of a cure to all blood cancers by 2015.

Great idea. I’m a little fuzzy, though. Who are the 8-10 men & women?

Amy,
Anyone can apply if they think they can raise the funds to qualify.
