INDIANAPOLIS –CatalistJobs, a Central Indiana On-line Community with the support of other local business and individuals has organized a “Community Jobs Un-Conference”. This unusual one day event is designed to help job seekers learn new tactics and strengthen skills. Open to the first 200 registrants, the even is free, but participants are encouraged to donate either $5 or a can of food to share with a local food bank.
The “Un-Conference” structure mixes formal presentations with informal conversations which allow attendees to get answers to their most pressing questions, find resources and get connected to people who can assist them in their job search. There is plenty of time for networking both before and after the sessions.
“We hope this will be the first of many sessions,” said McCann. We are already having conversations with other churches and community leaders who are offering to host an “Un-Conference” for their community.”

“In addition to people in search of employment, we expect some of our attendees will be individuals considering starting an entrepreneurial ventures,” said McCann. “Many of the topics will be extremely valuable to them as well.”
