(HAMILTON COUNTY , Ind. ) -The Inaugural Race for Autism, planned by the Hamilton County Autism Support Group will be held on June 13, 2009 on the grounds of White River Christian Church, 1685 N. 10th Street, Noblesville, IN 46060 , from 10 am to 2 pm.
The event, which will feature the “Autism Boom”, encourages children and adults of all ages and abilities to participate, raise money, and have fun.
Registration will begin at 9 am. Children and adults will race around a kid-friendly, safe course using various types of transportation: Strollers, wagons, tricycles, big wheels, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, wheelchairs, walking, running and more.
The fun continues after the race during a Community Expo Event. Games, music, educational and safety information will be available. Race participants and their supporters will be able to check in with BMV Kid Id for free fingerprinting and say hello to the Noblesville Fire and Police Department. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic and enjoy the day.
AirWorx Construction and Supply will be present with their uniquely designed boom lift that helps promote autism awareness. AirWorx purchased the boom lift for their rental fleet and has had it painted with unique “jigsaw puzzle” graphics covering the entire surface of the machine to symbolize the pieces of the autism puzzle yet to be completed.
A $5.00 entry fee is requested, but participants are encouraged to solicit supporting donations totaling $250. Non-participants wishing to support the program can also mail contributions to: HCASG, 19215 Morrison Way, Noblesville, IN 46060 or online at www.HSASG.org
All funds raised will be used to finance the programs and efforts of the HCASG to support the families of Hamilton County living with autism.
