(CARMEL, IN. July 1, 2009)- After weeks of auditions, practice, and qualifications – the 35 semi-finalists for the “CarmelFest Has Talent” vocal competition have been selected. CarmelFest Has Talent is a new addition to the Entertainment Line Up for the 2-day CarmelFest Celebration (July 3rd & 4th) at Carmel Civic Square.
The semi-finals and finals for CarmelFest Has Talent will be at the Gazebo Main Stage. Semi-Finals take place on Friday – July 3rd from Noon to 2:00 p.m. The Final Competition showcasing nine soloists will be held on Saturday – July 4th from 4:30 to 5:30 pm.
According to the co-chairs for this event, Daris Blickman and Gena Hout, “The community response to ‘CarmelFest Hast Talent’ has been fabulous. We never realized that the Carmel area had so many talented singers!” The Master of Ceremonies for the competition will be Scott Evans, “The Face” of MyINDY TV. He will be joined by Honorary Judge – Courtni Hall, Miss Indiana 2009. Additional Judges for this CarmelFest event include DImitri Alano, John Garrett, Craig Lafuse, and Elizabeth Souza-Bolt.
At the final performance on July 4th, Judges will determine the top vocalist in each of three categories: Youths ages 12 and under; Teens ages 13 – 17, and Adults ages 18 and older. In addition to their moment in the spotlight, winners will receive cash prizes of $500 for 1st Place Winners; $250 for 2nd Place and $100 for 3rd Place.
