Indianapolis, Ind. — For the last 26 years, Emmis Communications has hosted SkyConcert, Indiana’s biggest festival and fireworks show, during LaborDay weekend.
This collaboration of advertisers and sponsors was our gift to our hometown. In better times, Emmis was able to view this event as a demonstration of the gratitude we felt for our audiences.
This year, due to the state of the economy, we have been unable to garner the financial partners necessary to support the event, and we are unable to take on the full cost ourselves. As a result, we have made the decision to suspend the SkyConcert event for 2009.
It is our sincere hope that as the economy rebounds, we will once again be able to share SkyConcert with our listeners. Meanwhile, we will strive to find other, less costly ways to show our appreciation and support of the community, and we will join our community in working for better times.

Hey everybody, it’s Labor Day! I’m happy with my extra day off, and I am planning to make something fun that will probably involve a bike ride and seeing something new in Troutdale I haven’t seen yet.
You write new post on this Monday at the labor day? … haPpy BLoGGING!
