Camp Outreach, sponsored by locally based Common Ground Christian Ministries, convenes for a neighborhood repair blitz in the Stringtown area of West Indianapolis. Homes surrounding The Lord’s Pantry (Anna’s House) at 303 N. Elder, Indianapolis, will be repaired from July 13 to July 17, 2009. More than 30 youth and adults from as far away as Alabama and Michigan will be gathering to make improvements on homes for deserving individuals. The group will also upgrade Anna’s House, which serves as a community center.
All labor and materials are provided free of charge to the recipients.
For the first time this year, Common Ground will treat area children each day to free breakfast (9-10 AM) and lunch (12-1 PM), to be served at Anna’s House. First Outreach, the Camp Outreach program for children, will offer craft and service projects to local children, as well.
Previously, Common Ground has sponsored similar Camp Outreach projects in Plainfield, IN; Georgetown, KY; Pascagoula, MS; Chattanooga, TN and Olivehurst, CA. A follow-up project is planned for Olivehurst again at the end of July.
