(Carmel, Indiana) Winner from Carmel in the 2009 World Piano Competition is going to perform at Carnegie Hall in NYC this fall!
More than 145 piano students from 6-17 years old from the United States and 7 other countries (China, Japan, Canada, India, Venezuela, Poland, and South Korea) participated in the 53rd annual World Piano Competition from July 1-3 at Aronoff Center for the Arts in Cincinnati.
Carmel’s young pianists, students of Mrs. Irina Gorin, competed against their peers from other states in the U.S. and 7 other countries. Among several winners, Christina Young (8 y. old) who got the biggest award: the 1st place and the GRAND PRIZE!
Christina started her music studies at the age of 4 in the Little Mozarts program conducted by the International Talent Academy, and then seriously studied piano for 2 years with Mrs. Gorin.
She and her 3 friends will be performing at Carnegie Hall, NY this fall! The Carmel community can be proud of our young talents!
