(Carmel, IN) Come have “a bag full of fun for everyone” at Merchants Fest on Friday, July 17th from 6-9 p.m. and Saturday, July 18th from noon to 9 p.m. at Merchants’ Square located at 116th Street and Keystone Parkway. The event features the first-ever Dancing with the Carmel “Stars” dance competition featuring Christine Altman, Hamilton County Commissioner; Tim Green, Carmel’s Assistant Police Chief; Tim Griffin, Carmel Firefighter; Kevin “Woody” Rider, Carmel City Councilor At-Large; and Jeff Worrell, co-host of “Connecting with Carmel” on Carmel Government Channel 16. The festivities also include live music, dance exhibitions, NASCAR show cars, sidewalk sales, food booths from area restaurants, a children’s activity area, information about the Keystone Parkway and 116th Street renovation and other surprises. There will also be a Grand Prize Give-Away of two Allstate 400 at the Brickyard tickets, golf for four at Prairie View, dinner for four at Carrabba’s Italian Grill, massages at Wood House Spa, gift certificates for Merchants’ Square Barber, food coupons for Wendy’s, gift certificates for Wyant Photography, and other prizes. Entries will be accepted at participating Merchants’ Square area businesses until Friday morning July 17th and winners will be announced at Merchants Fest on Saturday, July 18th. The live music lineup for Merchants Fest includes performances by the Tim Meils Band, Carmel City Singers, Blair & Company and Barometer Soup. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs in which to sit while enjoying the entertainment. The music stage will be in the parking lot on the south side of Marsh.
