(Indianapolis, IN, August 5, 2009) – Smaller Indiana, www.SmallerIndiana.com, a statewide online community will once again send local bloggers to IndyFrige2009 festival during August 21-30, 2009. The purpose is to generate interest among the 6,000 SmallerIndiana members for the festival.
At IndyFringe2009, there will be 53 performers and 270 shows using six stages around Mass Ave arts & theatre district area. Bloggers will review individual performances, comment on the festival and post their comments on smallerindiana.com.
SmallerIndiana became an official partner of IndyFringe festival since 2008. “We had great success and received positive responses from our members during last year event. We hope to bring more bloggers this year to help promote the Fringe event,” said Lorraine Ball, a SmallerIndiana member and the owner of Roundpeg, an Indianapolis-based marketing firm.
Erik Deckers, another SmallerIndiana member and a pro blogger who participated in blogging for the fringe event last year, commented that it is a great way for bloggers and writers to get involved in the local art scene and to help support the Fringe festival. “I was exposed to a lot of great theatre, and met a lot of brilliant actors and writers from around the world,” added Deckers.
The Indianapolis Theatre Fringe Festival, also known as IndyFringe is a 10-day showcase of traditional and non-traditional theatre, dance, music, improvisation and a wide range of other performance and visual arts, performed and created by local, national and international artists.
