Indianapolis, IN (September 21, 2009) -Based on the book, Women Like Us: Real Stories and Strategies for Living Your Best Life, by Linda Rendleman, M.S., this speaking series expands on the theme of the common threads which run through women’s lives. “Our stories may be singular, but our passions are shared.”
The tea features outstanding women sharing their exceptional stories, philosophies and experiences with an emphasis on motivating and encouraging all women to be their very best. The Oct. 21st Tea Guest Speakers are Prabhavati Dwabha, an American who created Ramana’s Garden in Rishikesh, India as a Home for Destitute Children, Dr. Sue Morter, founder/head of Morter HealthCenter, a multi-doctor wellness center and chiropractic clinic in Carmel, Indiana and Indy’s TV Anchor Women Panel Discussion with Angela Ganote- FOX 59, Deanna Dewberry – WISH-TV and Anne Marie Tiernon -WTHR.
Created and hosted by Dr. Sally Brown Bassett and Linda Rendleman, M.S., their mission is to bring women together to hear the inspirational stories and motivational strategies of outstanding women leaders in our community and beyond. Held as an afternoon tea, the series takes place twice a year, once in the spring and again in the fall. Our first event in the spring of 2009 was an overwhelming success with “standing room only”. Partial proceeds from this event support providing humanitarian trip opportunities for girls through Women Like Us Chapters. This is a program developed by accomplished women to support under-served girls in discovering their talents, passions and courage by enabling them to engage in global humanitarian projects which benefit children and their communities.

About the Speakers
Prabhavati Dwabha-Creating Abundance in an Impoverished World
“Women Like Us™” is proud to have Prabha Dwabha coming from India as a guest speaker. Director of Ramana’s Garden, Rishikesh, India, Prabha formed Ramana’s Garden as a Home for Destitute Children as a result of her spiritual practice on the banks of the River Ganga.
Prabhavati Dwabha has been working in this area for the last 19 years and has provided assistance to more than 1,800 children in 68 villages and medical assistance to the entire village communities of 12,000.
It is her primary intention to help in the abolishment of the caste system though providing the highest levels of education possible free of cost to the lowest castes in India. It is her further intention to empower women through literacy and vocational training so that they can generate their own income and thereby gain power in their own households and communities…
Through partial proceeds from our event, we will send young women to Rishikesh, India to work in Ramana’s Garden Orphanage and learn firsthand the importance of work for the empowerment of women worldwide.
