Indianapolis, Ind. [Sept. 28, 2009] – Indianapolis-based News Site Indy Biz, a place small business owners come together to share information, has launched an updated Website located at www.indy-biz.com
The updated Website was built on a WordPress template focused on news stories and features more user-friendly navigation. The expanded news section allows more articles to appear on the homepage at one time. The updated site highlights the categories and tags features to allow users to quickly locate information.
The interactive development project included a survey to decide on the new Indy Biz logo. The survey was featured on the Roundpeg Website and Twitter. We received feedback from clients, peers, and even competitors.
“Inviting input allowed us to see how our brand should be perceived in the marketplace, and what people thought was important in a logo for a news Website” says Lorraine Ball, founder of Roundpeg. “There were some significant changes made to the designs after the first round of input, to include things we left out, and eliminate features most visitors thought were unnecessary.”
The survey categories included which logo was most memorable, credible, attractive, relevant and least appropriate, as well as color scheme. Results can be seen here.
“As a news and information site, we wanted to keep the site as simple as possible in terms of detail and design,” said Erica Gardner, Roundpeg Account Exec/Web designer. “The site is focused on the information, resources and ideas it delivers more than the aesthetics of design.”

One thing I would suggest is losing the all caps titles on the main page, and use the italicized mixed case as found when you click on the full article.
