Carmel, IN— [October 9, 2009] – Public broadcast show, Heartland Highways, and CNN’s iReport travel series, My City, My Secret, will feature the Carmel Arts & Design District as a tourist hot spot. Heartland Highways will film all day on Monday, October 12th, and local comedian, Stan Chen, will host My City, My Secret on Monday, October 19th.
Heartland Highways takes viewers to Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri every year to highlight unique areas in the heartland. A show based in Charleston, Illinois, Heartland Highways focuses on rural and interesting people and places in the Midwest. Hosts Lori Casey and Kate Pleasant will interview Mayor Brainard and Arts & Design District representatives to highlight main areas of redevelopment in Carmel. Local comedian, Stan Chen, was chosen to host a segment for CNN’s My City, My Secret. My City, My Secret offers a local citizen a chance to play tour guide by showing CNN the hidden gems of a community. Stan Chen will showcase best kept secret tourist destinations in the Arts & Design District, such as the Evan Lurie Gallery and Bub’s Burger and Ice Cream.
