Looks like Indy is going to have a locally based airline after all. Since we can’t attract one of the majors to come here, we will have to grow one of our own.
Indianapolis-based Republic Airways Holdings (NASDAQ: RJET) is
purchasing 10 jets from US Airways Group Inc. (NYSE: LLC). The carrier will use its $35 million loan from US Airways toward the purchase and assume the remaining debt. Republic says with the new additions, its subsidiaries will operate the largest fleet of EJet aircraft in the world.
