SAME FIRM. SIMPLIFIED NAME-Greenwalt Sponsel & Co., Inc. Is Now Greenwalt CPAs

25 years ago Greenwalt Sponsel was listed as the 19th largest firm in the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Book of Lists, and last year it was ranked 12th. Larry Greenwalt, Managing Partner noted: “Our GS&Co logo and name have served us well for the last 26 years, but we concluded that it was time for an update. Our new updated name represents the sixth name iteration over the firm’s 65 year history. We wanted our updated image to be unique, while retaining our heritage of almost 65 years of service.”

The firm’s partners’ considered a couple of options, but their unanimous choice was Greenwalt CPAs. “Interestingly, ‘Greenwalt’ is how the firm has generally been referred to by many of our clients, referral sources and recruits, and has been a part of the firm name since 1980, so it was very logical to simplify the name to Greenwalt CPAs,” noted Anita W Sherman, Senior Partner and Executive Committee member.

Rex Miller, Partner, noted, “The firm is unique in that it has the depth of resources and personnel of a national firm, while retaining the speed and agility of a local firm. This results from the depth of experience of 50 personnel, with 4 audit partners, 2 tax partners, 2 consulting partners and 1 information technology principal.” Another unique attribute normally found only in national and regional firms, is that clients are served through specialized industry and functional teams: Construction, Manufacturing & Distribution, Not-for-Profit, Professional Services, Entrepreneurial Services, Employee Benefit Services and Information Technology Services, which the firm believes results in a higher level of professional expertise being focused on clients’ unique needs.
