Her role at the Center is to function as part of the multidisciplinary team and facilitate the improved overall health of patients by insuring that their mental health and emotional needs are met. Her professional work has included studying how cultural and psychosocial factors impact a person’s ability to function and cope with chronic pain. She also trains health care professionals in assessing, diagnosing and treating Hispanic and Latino patients.
