Carmel, IN – Carmel Clay Township Trustee Doug Callahan has appointed Richard F. Taylor III to the Carmel Clay Board of Parks and Recreation. Taylor is filling the vacancy left by Dan Dutcher. Taylor’s term will expire January 1, 2014.
“I look forward to having such an intelligent and experienced individual to fill this vacancy, and I feel fortunate that Rich is willing to dedicate his time and effort to making our parks wonderful and unique places we can all enjoy,” said Doug Callahan.
Taylor brings extensive expertise in finance to the Parks and Recreation Board. He is presently Assistant Vice President at The National Bank of Indianapolis in Carmel. He previously held banking positions at First Merchants Bank, STAR Financial Bank and Union Planters Bank. He holds a bachelor’s degree in management from Purdue University Krannert School of Management. Taylor is an active volunteer serving as a member of the Carmel Chamber of Commerce and on its Arrows Young Professionals Committee. He also serves as International Talent Academy, Chairman of the Board; Rotary Club of Carmel, Vice President; Rotary Club of Carmel, Club Programs Chair; and Carmel Clay Public Library Foundation, Board of Directors and Co-Development Chair. Taylor is also a graduate of the Hamilton County Leadership Academy, and a member of the Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta.
The Carmel Clay Board of Parks and Recreation is a nine-member board charged with providing safe parklands and facilities to satisfy the community’s need for recreation and preservation. The Board supervises the Parks and Recreation Department, establishes rules governing the use of parks and recreational facilities, and reviews the annual budget before being sent to the City Council and Clay Township Board for approval. It also acquires, develops, programs and maintains parklands and recreational facilities.
