Indianapolis-based Stone Realty earns second designation for helping homeowners in danger of foreclosure
(INDIANAPOLIS, IN – February 15, 2009) – Angie Young of Stone Realty, LLC has attained the Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE) designation. Young’s appointment marks the second CDPE designation earned by the Stone Realty Group.
As a Certified Distressed Property Expert, Young will help area homeowners avoid foreclosure, and utilize “short sales” in the foreclosure process. Short sales allow a distressed homeowner to repay their mortgage at the price that the home sells for, even if it is lower than what is owed on the property. With declining property values, this can save many people from foreclosure and even bankruptcy.
“This CDPE designation represents an opportunity to work with sellers and lenders on complicated short sales,” said Young. “Foreclosure is a stressful event, and this designation provides a resource to help sellers save their homes from foreclosure, and help their families escape a financial crisis.”
The CDPE designation is offered through the Distressed Property Institute, which opened in January 2008. The certification is the premier designation for Realtors helping homeowners in distress and handling short sales. “Our goal is to educate as many people as possible so we can help as many homeowners as possible,” added Alex Charfen, founder of the Institute.
