Indianapolis… ComedySportz Indianapolis is proud to announce that they will be hosting the World Comedy League Championship in July 2011.  During the week of July 18-23, over 200 improvisers from all over the world will descend upon Massachusetts Avenue, Indy’s Arts and Theatre District. All are hoping for the chance to compete for the Meaningless Trophy in the Championship Match on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at the Historic Athenaeum.  There will be ComedySportz Matches every night starting on Wednesday, July 20. All matches will be held at the Athenaeum on Mass Ave. The teams will be from ComedySportz Theatres throughout the U.S.A., as well as Manchester, England and the newest ComedySportz team coming from Berlin, Germany. This is truly an international event happening here in the heart of Indy’s Arts and Theatre District. The improvisers will participate in workshops every day and watch in awe as teams from the other cities exhibit their funny bones. For over seventeen years, ComedySportz Indianapolis has been Indy’s only Professional Improvisational Comedy Theatre. A member of the World Comedy League, ComedySportz Indianapolis is located in the ComedySportz Theatre in the Massachusetts Avenue Arts and Theatre District. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night ComedySportz Indianapolis presents all-ages improvisational comedy matches where two teams battle for laughs and points as they make up scenes, games and songs on the spot. The audience votes for the winners, a referee calls the fouls and everyone even sings the national anthem before each match.
