(Indianapolis, IN) – Local business expert Lorraine Ball in combination with an elite group of local business professionals, will judge student business plans at the Hamilton County Young Entrepreneur’s Business Plan Competition. The competition, which will take place on Saturday, May 15th, is a semester-long project for Hamilton County high school students with an entrepreneurial spirit. The project encourages business-minded students to return to Hamilton County to open a business, therefore promoting economic growth in the area. The plans have been submitted to the Hamilton County Business Alliance who is sponsoring the competition.
“I look forward to seeing the hard work of these young professionals,” said Ball. “It’s great to see these students developing their skills and working towards a successful future.”
The competition provides participating students with an opportunity to develop and present a business plan to start a new business or to offer a new product or service within an existing business. They develop the ideas from start to finish leading up to a final evaluation.
The participants are encouraged to bring forth original business ideas and present them through the business plan based on research. Students will also request for financing for the plan through role-play interviews.
Students will give a 20-minute business plan presentation to a panel of industry expert judges acting as loan officers or venture capitalists.
