Greenwood, IN, June 16, 2010 – In 2005, Mike Heffner, opened the doors to the Greenwood office of Express Employment Professionals. In May of that year, Mike headed for training at the franchise headquarters in Oklahoma City along with his first two employees Erin Ricke and Jessica Messer who are still with his office today. Their dream was to help the local Southside community grow by helping people find good jobs with local companies. On July 11, Heffner’s Express office will celebrate 5 years of providing professional employment services to job seekers and employers in Johnson County and on the Southside of Indianapolis.
Prior to opening Express, Mike was a National Account Manager for Owens Corning but was constantly on the road and away from his family. When Mike realized he was missing out on many firsts in his daughter’s life, he knew this decision would be an easy one to make. “I quit my job in May 2005. It was a good job. I had been there eight years,” explains Mike. “My story is that I woke up at 3 in the morning one night in a hotel room in New Jersey and realized I was about to miss my 5-year-old daughters’ first soccer game.” Starting Express Employment Professionals in Greenwood has been the best business decision Mike has made.
The Express office continues to grow and Mike says they are busier than ever! Mike serves as a Board Director for the Greater Greenwood Chamber of Commerce. He chose to announce and celebrate their 5th birthday at the Greenwood Chamber June Trendsetter Luncheon. “The Greenwood Chamber has been one of the foundations of our business success. The connections and friends I have made within the Greenwood Chamber have been instrumental to our success. I have truly enjoyed being a part of this group of people.”
The Greenwood Express franchise began operation in July of 2005 and services the Greenwood and greater Indianapolis Southside community. They help place associates into evaluation to hire, direct hire and short term assignments in a variety of fields, including administrative, professional services and light industrial positions. They also provide expertise with leadership training as well as customized human resource services. Express has helped over 3,000 associates find jobs since they opened in 2005.
