Background: The Carmel Veterans Day Ceremony is a community event put on by Mayor Jim Brainard, the City of Carmel and members of Carmel’s VFW Post and American Legion Post to honor our veterans. The Program includes recognition of winners of the annual poster and essay contest; music; speakers; and honor guard. Carmel holds its ceremony the day before the actual Veterans Day so our veterans may take part in the parade and other festivities on Nov. 11th in Indianapolis.
