Fishers, IN – The Entrepreneurship Advancement Center announced today the winners of its Hamilton County Young Entrepreneurs’ Business Plan Competition. Ellie Seta, from Carmel High School, received first place in the individual category for her business plan for Bittersweet, a dessert-only restaurant. In the team competition, Trevor Rogers and Sean Davis from Hamilton Southeastern High School received the first place prize for their business plan for Fantasy Warehouse, a sports complex.
“Each year the entries get more creative and sophisticated,” stated Cathy Langlois of the EAC. “Our judges are continually impressed with the business savvy of the students, and truly enjoy participating in this competition.”
The competition provides participants with an opportunity to develop and present a business plan to start a new business or to offer a new product or service within an existing business. Entrepreneurial business ideas are strongly encouraged. Participants prepare a written business plan based on research and request financing for the plan through a role-play interview. Any student attending a high school in Hamilton County may enter. For information on the 2011 competition, go to goentrepreneurs.org/youth-entrepreneurship.
About Entrepreneurship Advancement Center: The Entrepreneurship Advancement Center (EAC) started in 2005 as an entrepreneurship education initiative of Hamilton County Alliance, the local economic development organization. The initiative focused on supporting high school entrepreneurship education through a variety of activities including highly successful business plan competitions. Since January 2007, over 400 students have competed and over 60 local business professionals have evaluated business plans. Since January 2009, 4 students have launched their businesses. In January 2010, EAC spun off of HCA as its own 501(c) 3 and expanded its focus to provide education and support to entrepreneurial businesses. For more information go to: goentrepreneurs.org
