Indiana’s top brewers and chefs team up to showcase their craft

(Indianapolis, Ind.) – Calling all beer enthusiasts. Indiana Beer Week is July 11th-16th and all over Indiana there will be various activities designed to highlight the appreciation of fresh, local, craft beer. On July 15th at 6:30 p.m. the second annual dinner, Make It Local: Craft Beer & Food at Back Yard, will be served, featuring the culinary creations of six local chefs paired with fresh beer from six Indiana breweries.  The dinner will be held at Chef JJ’s Back Yard, 1040 Broad Ripple Ave.

 

The evening will start off with a beer social hour, highlighting the established Sun King Cream Ale and grilled bread infused with Artisano’s oils. The featured Chefs for the evening are; Eli Anderson form H20 Sushi, Mark Cox and Joshua Henson from Fermenti Artisan, JJ Boston from Chef JJ’s Back Yard, Mike Sheerin from 3 Floyds Brewing, Christopher Eley from Goose The Market and Jenna Gatchell from Chef JJ’s Back Yard. Each chef will team up with a brewer from a different Indiana brewery. The breweries taking part will be Sun King Brewery, Bier Brewery, Brugge, Mad Anthony’s Brewery, Three Floyds Brewing Co. and Peoples Brewing Company. Each course will have an element that will be cooked/brined with a beer and then paired with a complementary beer, plus the chef and brewer will be on hand to discuss each course/pairing.

 

Sun King’s owner/brewer Clay Robinson said “Indiana beer week is a great week in Indiana and we are glad to be a part of a second annual event at Chef JJ’s because they always bring together wonderful people that seem to have the passion about the same things.
