Chef JJ’s Back Yard partners with AlphaGraphics to heat up the giving spirit
Chef JJ’s Back Yard is excited to be a part of AlphaGraphics Fight Hunger campaign this year. For the past two years, AlphaGraphics has partnered with local businesses in the Indianapolis area to collect over 6,300 pounds of food for Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana during the month of July. Chef JJ’s would like to participate this year by being a drop off spot for non-perishable goods and in return will be giving away a Medium Big Green Egg at the end of the campaign!
Chef JJ’s Back Yard wants to promote the fact that people in need are without many every day necessities like laundry detergent, hand soap, diapers, deodorant, tooth brushes, etc. If you stop by Chef JJ’s Back Yard and bring in an item that falls into this category, you will get a ticket to enter into the Big Green Egg drawing. This drawing will be for a medium Big Green Egg and will be held on August 1st. People can come by and drop off as many items as they wish between July 1st and the 30th, there is no limit to the amount of times that someone can be entered into the drawing.
“There are many people in the community who go without little things that we take for granted”, says Executive Director of Chef JJ’ Back Yard, Staraya McKinstry. “If we can do something that can spread the message and get more people to talk about these issues, that is the goal. We want people to engage in that giving spirit at a time when it is not top of mind. Holiday’s seem to bring a giving sprit. But summer time seems to be really busy with many other activities so most people forget that they can help out in a really simple way. And by giving away the EGG we feel like we can help to make this fun by adding some excitement to the cause!”
