Indianapolis—bo-mar, an Indianapolis-based high-tech metal fabrication company, has been recognized for its innovation and skill by becoming one of only two plants in the country to beta test Flow International’s Dynamic Waterjet® XD. During the beta testing, bo-mar will push the machine to its limits, using all of their creativity and skill to see what it can really do.
“At bo-mar, we’re passionate about experimenting and finding new ways to solve old problems,” said Bob Buchanan, president of bo-mar. “This test is a chance to do just that, and we can’t wait to find exciting ways to better serve our customers.”
You may never have heard of bo-mar, but you’ve seen their work. Located on the east side of Indianapolis, the company specializes in making metal useful, dynamic and beautiful. Their precision-cut metal signs hang in many Marsh Supermarkets throughout the Midwest, and bo-mar manufactured chandeliers for the new J.W. Marriott, among many others. In addition, their parts support Indy Car and NHRA Drag Racing teams. It was that experience and talent that made bo-mar rise above the hundreds of other metalworking companies around the country which Flow International could have chosen for their test.
“With their broad machine tool experience with a wide variety of equipment, as well as their extensive waterjet expertise, bo-mar was an ideal candidate,” said Tim Fabian, global product manager at Flow International.
bo-mar will use the machine in many different ways, but all of them will be focused on helping customers create the best possible results. “We’re not sure what exactly the machine can do yet,” Buchanan said. “But we’re excited to find out.”
