Julie Perry brings vast experience in video and email marketing, SEO and digital advertising 

Digital-strategy and cloud-solutions firm StrataBlue, LLC continues to expand its leadership by adding Julie Perry as the director of digital media marketing. Perry, who brings 13 years of online-marketing experience with nine years focused on social media, will concentrate on digital thought-leadership activities, provide expertise in digital strategy to further bolster the firm’s social media services offering and support major client assignments.

Prior to joining the StrataBlue team, Perry served as vice president and social media director at Fishers-based BLASTmedia, where she created the company’s social- and digital-marketing service offering. In less than three years with the company, she built her department to a team of 11 digital strategists while also introducing video marketing, email marketing and paid-media marketing to the roster of company services. Perry’s experience prior to that includes serving as advertising sales director at ATA Airlines & Ambassadair Travel Club and serving as senior account executive at Denver-based Henry Gill Advertising Agency, where she launched Frontier Airline’s inflight-entertainment program in 2004. In 2007, Perry served as vice president of sales and marketing at Miami-based social network, TheBoaters, during which time she created a marine-news video podcast that achieved over 1.5 million views on YouTube alone. Perry’s expertise in the area of YouTube video marketing and video-search optimization resulted in the creation of “YouTube Secret Weapon,” a five-part training course on leveraging YouTube for business used by thousands of students and customers from 2008 to 2012. In the course of her career, Perry has built brand strategies for a wide spectrum of clients across the consumer and B2B technology, marine, entertainment, fashion, travel and retail industries—from Pelican Products and Code42 Software (CrashPlan) to Etón Corporation and Chris-Craft Boats.

A popular speaker at digital-media industry events nationwide, Perry has presented at Social Media Marketing World, ReelSEO Video Marketing Summit, American Marketing Association’s Virtual Exchange and she has made three appearances at BlogWorld & New Media Expo. She is also a regularly scheduled speaker at marine-industry events, including conferences held by Chris-Craft Boats, International Superyacht Society, Marine Marketers of America and the U.S. Superyacht Association. Perry is a contributing author to Entrepreneur Press’ Success Secrets of the Social Media Marketing Superstars (2010) and has achieved notoriety in the marine world with her book, The Insider’s Guide to Becoming a Yacht Stewardess: Confessions from My Years Afloat with the Rich and Famous (2006 & 2013).
