“Connecting with Carmel” Filming at Mudbugs Cajun Cafe

Carmel, IN - “Connecting with Carmel,” a monthly magazine show on Cable Channel 16, will be filming tomorrow, Thursday, August 21st at Mudbugs Cajun Cafe in the Carmel Arts & Design District. “Connecting with Carmel” airs on Carmel’s Government Access Channel and is hosted by volunteers Stephanie Lewis and Jeff Worrell.

By filming on location, “Connecting with Carmel” is able to showcase many of the unique offerings in Carmel as well as keep viewers informed of the City’s most important news.
Scheduled to air the entire month of September, this show will feature hosts Jeff and Stephanie delivering the news and upcoming events in the community while providing an in-depth look at what Mudbugs Cajun Cafe has to offer. “Connecting with Carmel” regularly includes interviews with Mayor Jim Brainard, City Council members and City employees. Guests from various organizations throughout Carmel are also invited to share the activities they have to offer.

Residents of Carmel are cordially invited to watch the filming of “Connecting with Carmel.” Filming will take place from 9 a.m. and will run until about 4 p.m. Join hosts Jeff Worrell and Stephanie Lewis for this exciting event!

Jane Reiman Portrait Unveiling

What:             Mayor Brainard will unveil an oil portrait of Jane Reiman, former mayor of Carmel.

 

When:             Thursday, August 14th at 3 p.m.

 

Where:           Carmel City Hall, 2nd floor Caucus Room

 

Who:               Mayor Jim Brainard, Jane Reiman and members of Carmel City Council.  The community is invited to attend.

 

Background:  This is the second in a series of oil portraits of the former mayors of Carmel.  Jane Reiman was Carmel’s second mayor.  She served two terms from 1980-1988. 

 

                        The portrait of Carmel’s first mayor, Al Pickett, was unveiled on May 27th.

Appointment of New Director of Operations for Brookshire Golf Course

Carmel Chamber Announces New Carmel Green Award

“Safety First” for Your Aging Parents

Alzheimer’s is a serious disease that affects 4.5 million people per year in the United States, and nearly 14,000 in metropolitan Indianapolis.

It is said that by 2010 this disease is going to affect over 5.5 million people. For many families, this presents numerous challenges, not the least of which is a concern for their safety.

Recent research shows that an educated family member will help those with the disease to stay at home safely a year an a half longer than if they were being cared for by an uneducated caregiver.

Hamilton County Ranked # 1

Carmel, IN – Hamilton County, Indiana is America’s Best Place to Raise a Family according to Forbes.com. Hamilton County’s excellent school districts, population, property taxes and SAT scores were the main areas that Hamilton County reached the top Forbes list of 20 counties.

Ten data points were used to rank these 20 counties including cost of living, graduation rate, standardized scores, home price, property tax rate as a percentage of median home price, percentage of homes occupied by owner, per-capita income, air quality, crime rate and commute time.

“We are very pleased to be among the cities contributing to this recognition. Arrows Looking to Get Young Professionals Connected and Involved
