Author and Co-Creator of ‘Results-Only Work Environment’ (ROWE) to Deliver Third Keynote at TechPoint’s Innovation Summit

Jody Thompson co-created ROWE with her business partner Cali Ressler at retail giant Best Buy, revolutionizing the workplace as we know it. Today, Jody and Cali are leading a global movement to forever change the way people work and live.

INDIANAPOLIS (October 29, 2011) — TechPoint, Indiana’s technology growth initiative, is bringing Jody Thompson to Indianapolis to deliver an afternoon keynote address at Innovation Summit presented by Comcast Business Services on November 8, 2011.

Thompson is the co-founder of CultureRx and co-creator of Results-Only Work Environment (ROWE). Her first book Why Work Sucks and How to Fix It, written with her business partner Cali Ressler, was named “The Year’s Best Book on Work-Life Balance” by Business Week. A revised, updated version of Thompson’s revolutionary book is now available in paperback.

Thompson has been featured on the covers of BusinessWeek, Workforce Management magazine, HR magazine, Hybrid Mom magazine, as well as in the New York Times, TIME magazine, USA Today, The Wall Street Journal and on Good Morning America, CNBC and CNN.

Thompson is leading the charge to throw out traditional work schedules and completely revolutionize the way people work and live. “It’s time to change the conversation from ‘flexibility’ to ‘results.’ What’s important is that results are being achieved, not where or when the work is being done,” Thompson says.

Many businesses are already seeing the benefits of ROWE. “Since going ROWE three years ago, my company has seen tremendous, measurable gains in productivity and even better customer service,” said Michael Reynolds, president and CEO of Indianapolis-based digital agency SpinWeb. “Cali and Jody are progressive innovators and working with them has been inspiring.”

Thompson is one of the keynote speakers being featured at the day-long conference and exhibition being held at the Indiana Convention Center. Former Facebook Spokeswoman and Director of Market Development Randi Zuckerberg will deliver a keynote luncheon address and spend an additional 45 minutes taking questions from attendees. Michael Stelzner, an entrepreneur, author and founder of SocialMediaExaminer.com – one of the world’s largest business blogs – is scheduled to deliver the opening keynote.

In addition to keynote addresses by Thompson, Stelzner and Zuckerberg, Innovation Summit will feature presentations by more than a dozen other thought leaders, and Innovation EXPO display booths will showcase the latest breakthroughs and developments from Indiana startups, universities, service providers and established companies alike.

The AlphaGraphics business center located at 12955 Old Meridian St., Suite 103, Carmel, IN will sponsor its third annual food drive for the entire month of July to benefit Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana. It’s easy to participate. Just call 844-6629 or email Rhonda, rkile@alphagraphics.com, and a food donation box or barrel will be placed in your office with accompanying flyers and posters supporting this worthy cause. The box or barrel will be picked up at the end of July and delivered to the Gleaners warehouse. AlphaGraphics is also serving as a drop off for those wishing to deliver food directly to us. For more information visit our website, us605@alphagraphics.com

“Last year, with the help of over 50 businesses, nearly 7,000 lbs of non perishable items were collected,” stated Michael Kile, business center owner. “Each year more businesses come on board increasing the contributions. We hope 2011 will be no exception. This year we are adding an AlphaGraphics Fight Against Hunger virtual food bank. Once this is set up people will be able to purchase food on line that will go directly to the Gleaners warehouse to be distributed throughout the community.”

Typically food pantries see increased donations during the holidays when the public is in the giving spirit. Summer months see a sharp decrease in donations but the need for support is there all year.

AlphaGraphics plans, produces and manages visual communications for individuals and small to medium businesses as well as departments within larger corporations. Backed by state-of-the-art technology, the world’s highest quality standards and a global network, the company’s trained and experienced team members are committed to delivering creative solutions that allow customers to communicate more confidently and effectively.

(INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.) – Chef JJ’s Back Yard is offering some weekend classes in June. Guest chef, Becky Eaton from Becky’s Healthy Kitchen, will be running three classes, beside Chef JJ, and will be sharing her expertise on healthy cooking. Everything still will be cooked on the Big Green Egg, but with a fun twist. \
Saturday afternoon classes provide people to sit back and relax and enjoy their surroundings. Being on the patio is a great way to spend your weekend afternoon, while being fed great food and learning from some of the best. It is an interactive setting that keeps people interested and intrigued. The themes of these classes will be Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Sign up for one or all three and walk away with all the recipes and a shopping list for the ingredients. These recipes can fit into anyone’s schedule and are great ideas for people wanting to make lighter, healthier foods, with lots of flavor!
“Our Saturday classes give those people who can not make out Tuesday classes, a chance to come enjoy our space. It also allows for a little bit of a different feel, these afternoon classes tend to be a little more laid back and social and we love being out on the back patio during the day.” said Boston. “Chef Becky will bring a whole different, fun, playful aspect to the classes. She is a great cook, who really knows what she is talking about when it comes to healthy alternatives, I think everyone is going to want to pick her brain when it comes to different ingredient substitutes and recipe ideas.”
To learn more about how to sign up for the Saturday grilling classes, visit www.chefjjs.com.

Brownsburg, Indiana – May 12, 2011 – The Brownsburg Chamber of Commerce announced today that it will host its fifth annual Motorsports Celebration on Saturday, May 21st at 5:30 p.m. at Bill Estes Ford, 450 E. Northfield Dr. in Brownsburg. The event, which raises funds for the organization throughout the year, will feature a catered dinner by Green Street Pub, a cash bar, classic and race cars on display, a fundraiser auction and a pinewood derby race. The event is open to the public (ages 21 and older). Last year’s event raised about $5,000 for the Brownsburg Chamber of Commerce.

Tickets to the Motorsports Celebration are $25 ($30 admission on the day of the event), and include admission to the event, buffet dinner and pinewood derby kit (optional). The chamber encourages residents and businesses to participate by purchasing a ticket to attend, sponsoring or donating an auction item for the event. This year’s auction currently features around 50 items, including sports and events tickets, autographed racing items, cash, gift cards and business services.

The pinewood derby race provides an opportunity for individuals or businesses to build and brand their own model cars, which will be on display prior to the race. Entrants can then race their cars during the event on a custom-built track, complete with a laser finish line and projection screen showing heats and team name. Overall winners and design winners will receive awards as well as publicity after the event. Last year’s winning cars are not allowed to enter again.
