More than 200 guests attended the fundraiser, hosted October 7 on the grounds of the agency’s offices in Zionsville. The daylong event featured an internationally themed cooking competition, with employees crafting cuisine from Germany, Italy, Australia, Greece and India. Attendees were also encouraged to participate in a silent auction, raffle and cookie sale while mingling and sampling each team’s offerings and casting votes. In the end, Team Greece took top honors as the event favorite.

According to the Indianapolis Affiliate of Susan G. Komen, 75 percent of donations from the agency’s Cook For The Cure event stay in central Indiana, with the remaining 25 percent supporting national Komen-funded research.

KitchenAid(R) developed the Cook For The Cure concept as a way for neighbors, family and friends to come together to make a meal and donate to Susan G. Komen. According to KitchenAid, the idea has generated more than $8 million in the fight against breast cancer.

About Entrepreneurship Advancement Center

The Entrepreneurship Advancement Center (EAC) started in 2005 as an entrepreneurship education initiative of Hamilton County Alliance, the local economic development organization. The initiative focused on supporting high school entrepreneurship education through a variety of activities including highly successful business plan competitions. Since January 2007, over 350 students have competed in competitions and over 60 local business professionals have evaluated business plans. Since January 2009, 4 students have launched their businesses. In January 2010, EAC spun off of HCA as its own 501(c) 3 and expanded its focus to provide education and support to entrepreneurial businesses.

Wilcher has been a performer with ComedySportz Indianapolis since 2004, and is a member of the Three Dollar Bill Comedy Company. She is a veteran theatre performer around Indianapolis, with three encore awards for her performances.  In addition to performing, she has taught acting classes with Acting Up Productions, Booth Tarkington Civic Theatre, and Wayne Township Education Foundation.

Wilcher will be active in growing the brand of ComedySportz Indianapolis through weekly matches with the professional company of performers and coordinating the weekly practice schedule.  She will also serve as High School League Coordinator.
