Knowledge of Human Psychology Transforming Business in
PLAINFIELD (March 30, 2016) – On Wednesday, May 4, a nationally-recognized expert will speak at Crane Credit Union in Plainfield, Indiana, on the topic of psychology in the workplace. The event includes a light breakfast and is free to the general public.
A group of nationally-recognized experts will be speaking to business professionals and the general public on the first Wednesday of every month beginning this May. The programs are sponsored by Crane Credit Union and feature topics ranging from business strategy, employee mentoring, networking secrets, intergenerational issues and more.
Bob Downs, CEO, expressed his support for the series. “We’re excited to bring outside speakers to serve our communities and give them the opportunity to learn and grow.” Downs oversees operations for 41,000+ members and over $500 million in total assets.
For the first event in the program, Dr. Alison “Ali” O’Malley will discuss key findings from modern psychology research and their application to business. With an informative yet entertaining style, Dr. Ali explains in everyday language how to leverage our understanding of the brain to make better business decisions and reach customers more effectively.
The Crane Executive Leadership Series features nine programs throughout the course of 2016, each hosted on the first Wednesday of the month either at the Plainfield or Franklin locations. Doors open at 9:00am; programs run from 9:15am to 10:15am and include a light breakfast and refreshments. About Dr. Alison O’Malley
Dr. Alison (Ali) O’Malley is a tenured Professor of Psychology at Butler University. She received her Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from The University of Akron. O’Malley teaches a wide variety of undergraduate Psychology courses ranging from statistics and research methods, to conservation psychology with a service-learning component, to an advanced seminar on the psychology of happiness.
The role of feedback in the learning process is a recurring theme in O’Malley’s scholarly work. Her publications have appeared in outlets including Journal of Management, Journal of Diversity in Higher Education, and Teaching of Psychology. She has been published over a dozen times in major field journals.
